In the spring of 2002 an alliance of seven major pharmaceutical companies
has unveiled a free membership program offering saving of 20-40% to low-income
seniors on 150 widely prescribed drugs called Together Rx.
This is by far the largest pharmaceutical company savings program, which
starts in June 2002. The participating companies are Abbott Laboratories, AstraZeneca,
Aventis Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, GlaxoSmithKline,
Janssen Pharmaceutica Products, L.P., Novartis, and Ortho-McNeil Phamaceutical,
Inc.
The card is FREE. In order to be eligible you have to be a Medicare beneficiary
without public or private prescription drug coverage and with income of up
to $28,000 ($38,000 for couples).
To apply for Together Rx card simply call 1-800-865-7211 or visit their website
at www.together-rx.com.
Once you receive your card simply present it in any Together Rx Program participating
pharmacies. Most major pharmacies will participate, but call ahead to verify.
