In March of 2002 Eli Lilly & Co unveiled a new LillyAnswers Discount Card
Program. The Card allows some low-income Medicare patients to purchase most
of the company products for a fixed cost of $12.00 per month.
The card is FREE. In order to be eligible you have to be a Medicare beneficiary
without public or private prescription drug coverage and with income of up
to $18,000 ($24,000 for couples).
Under the LillyAnswers program all Lilly products are offered except controlled
substances or drugs that are not distributed in retail pharmacies. Popular
Lilly products included are Evista, Humulin, Prozac and Zyprexa.
To apply for LillyAnswers Card simply call toll free 1-877-Rx-Lilly (1-877-795-5459).
You will receive an application form, which needs to be filled out and returned
with copies of your most recent tax return and a copy of your Medicare card.
Once your application is received and approved, it will take 2-4 weeks to receive
the LillyAnswers card. The card is valid for 12 months, and then you will need
to reapply.
After you receive your card simply present it in any participating pharmacies
along with your prescription for an automatic discount. If you have any further
